Objective & Challenge

Teams struggled to make sense of complex data spread across dashboards and reports. The goal was to design a flexible analytics platform that turns raw data into clear, actionable insights. By simplifying interactions, enabling intuitive charts and filters, & maintaining a consistent system, the platform empowers both technical and non-technical users to confidently understand performance.

Understanding the problem

Research & Discovery

  • Leveraged AI-assisted research and online sources to explore analytics patterns, dashboard structures, and usability benchmarks.
  • Studied user needs, workflows, and interaction challenges to understand real-world constraints.
  • Organized insights into clear next steps findings into clear insights that shaped the product’s problem definition and feature priorities.

RESEARCH and outputs

Insight 1: Users feel overwhelmed by dense analytics dashboards.
Insight 2: Filtering & data exploration often feels complex and unintuitive.
Insight 3: Users want customization without losing usability.

Design Strategy

Designing

Followed a research-driven, iterative design approach that began with clearly defining the problem, conducting user research and data analysis, and validating insights through usability testing and real-world feedback

Core design principles

Clarity Over Complexity
Guided Customization
Progressive Disclosure
Data-Driven Visual Hierarchy
Consistency & Predictability

Design Process

Wireframing & Iteration

  • Explored multiple dashboard hierarchies to establish a clear data flow from summary metrics to detailed insights.
  • Iteratively simplified data-heavy tables and filtering layouts to reduce clutter and improve scannability.
  • Refined the dashboard customization flow to balance flexibility with structure and usability.

Visual Designs

Accessibility Considerations

  • Color Contrast & Readability
  • Structured Layout & Logical Hierarchy
  • Clear Interactive States
  • Icon + Label Pairing

Typography & Components

Typography: Clear hierarchy (Large Bold Merchant Name > Section Headers > Body). Monospace for IDs and tabular data.
